Access library resources — even when you're not at the library! Several of the library's subscription database services provide mobile applications for portable devices. Locate the App from the device provider's website or store and follow the instructions for logging in to the Alexandria Library's services.

ALERT: Alexandria Library's mobile app for Apple devices (AlexLibVa) has been updated in iTunes. Customers may have to delete the old version and download the updated version.
Download the free Alexandria Library Mobile App to get on-the-go mobile access to our online catalog. The app is compatible with Android, iPhone and iPod Touch devices and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play for free.
What can you do with Alexandria Library Mobile App?
Access Your Account: Using your library card number and pin you can check due dates, place a hold, renew a book, you can even get alerts when books are due or holds become available.
Locate: Find branch locations, hours, phone numbers.
Search the Catalog: Search the catalog by author, title, subject, barcode, or keyword. You'll see book summaries, cover images, number of copies and more.
Scan Barcodes: If you see a book you like at a friend's house or a bookstore, scan the barcode and see if the library has it and which branch has the item

Available at iTunes App Store (Requires iOS 7 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. When downloading for iPads select the "iPhone only" option on the device dropdown.)
BookMyne, a similar app which will access your account and the library catalog, is accessible for Android devices at Google Play (Requires 2.3 and up)
Searching the Catalog

Kindle® compatibility (US schools and libraries only) requires Kindle device or Kindle reading apps developed by Amazon.

Freegal Music is a free music service from Alexandria Library. Alexandria Library cardholders can download up to five songs per week from the Sony music collection and other licensed labels for your personal use. Once you download the songs, they're yours to keep. Cardholders can also stream up to 3 hours of music per day.
Tip: If you would like to transfer your downloads to iTunes visit Alexandria Library Freegal Music on your desktop/laptop instead of the mobile app. Downloading songs via the app will store the music on the app.

The AccessMyLibrary Public Edition mobile app from Gale. AccessMyLibrary uses GPS to find libraries within a 10-mile radius of your location, then gives you free, unlimited access to their reputable, authoritative Gale online resources — without the need to log in. Based on your current location, AccessMyLibrary locates libraries within a 10-mile radius. You can then select a library and access all its Gale electronic resources. Remember to bookmark your library to access it from anywhere on earth that you have access to the Internet.
