Archive and Manuscript Collections Index

The Alexandria Library, Local History/Special Collections Division includes more than 250 archive and manuscript collections of Alexandriana and material relating to Northern Virginia.  The collections vary from account books and diaries to sheet music to audiocassettes of oral histories, advertising, miscellaneous city and other documents, correspondence and material related to the historic structures in Alexandria, etc.  Most of the collections were donated to the Alexandria Library.

The archive and manuscript collections are available for use only in the library.   We are open Mondays-Thursdays, 9 am - 9 pm, Fridays, 9 am - 6 pm, Saturdays, 9 am - 5 pm, Eastern.  Please check the Alexandria Library's home page for holiday closures.  Phone: 703.838.4577 ex 213;  FAX: 703.706.3912.
