How do I renew books and other materials I have borrowed?

You may renew books online through the Classic Online Catalog, through the Library's new Content Catalog view, by telephone, or at any self-check machine located at a Branch. Overdue materials and materials that are on hold or that have been requested or reserved by other patrons may not be renewed.

Renew using the online CLASSIC CATALOG:

Login to your account by entering your PATRON ID Number and PIN (last 4-digits of the registered telephone number) in the login box on the right top of the screen.

Navigate to MY ACCOUNT and check the items you wish to RENEW. Action the "Renew Selected Items" button at the bottom.

Note the message that ITEMS HAVE BEEN RENEWED along with the new DUE DATE. Select "OK" and you are all set!

Renew via the Alexandria Library website:

At the top of page, select MY ACCOUNT to prompt the popup login screen.

Note the status menu of your account to the right to review your account checkouts.

Select CHECKOUTS from either the top menu bar or the status quick check on the right. Place a check in the box of the items you wish to renew and select RENEW at the bottom of the screen.

Note the *NEW* Due Dates along with any messages. The messages in RED indicate that the items have reached their MAXIMUM RENEWAL PRIVILEGES of two (3) renewals per item and must be returned on their due date. Customers will not be able to make additional renewals on the items via electronic means.

Please contact a Library Circulation Desk for a walkthrough visit to learn how to renew items via the telephone or using the self-checkout machines and if you have questions.
