Got Library Pride? On April 17, Support ALF for the Spring2Action Fundraiser!

The Alexandria Library Foundation (ALF) needs your support for Spring2Action, a 24-hour online fundraising opportunity that allows Alexandria charities to win up to $30,000 in grants and prizes for their amazing efforts! For this event, ALF is asking for your help, as the library faces budget cuts that may threaten its materials expenses. ALF pleads for its town of bookworms to wiggle their wallets and donate for the cause. The goal?— to raise $15,000 as Alexandria Library celebrates National Library Week. We look forward to your support of the foundation, which is committed to responding to the community's needs to procure excellent materials and services for Alexandria Library.

Here's how you can help through your online contributions:

APRIL 17-- Ongoing for 24 hours, starting at 12:00 a.m., ending at 11:59 p.m.

You can also show your support by shopping locally at businesses or dining at restaurants that have registered with Causetown, an Alexandria-based fundraising organization that makes it easy for businesses to give a portion of their sales to charities. The list businesses participating in Spring2Action can be found here.

Additionally, offline events will be taking place at Holy Cow Burger and Pork Barrel BBQ, which will donate .25 to the charity of a person’s choice when they order. They will list all the charities that are participating in Spring2Action.

We thank you in advance for your donations for Spring2Action 2013 as library advocates!
