I Love My Library
The Alexandria Library system asked the residents of Alexandria one question, “Why do you love the library?” In honor of the 75th Anniversary of the Alexandria Library as a public library system, residents were encouraged to write thoughts on why they love the library.
At each of the four branches of the Alexandria Library, patrons were greeted with a display decorated with a Valentine’s Day theme in which notes were written to the library expressing thanks/gratitude for the services the library provides to the community. The displays were up through the end of February.
Responses to why our patrons love their library include “because I can find books on anything that interests me. It helps me learn lots of new things. I also love that the books are free!” and “it makes us a stronger and closer community. Not to mention well read“.
