Burke Branch Library
The Burke Branch Library is an important community space for residents of the West End in Alexandria. The Burke Branch Library is named for long-serving Library Director, Ellen Coolidge Burke. The library reopened on March 4, 2002 and was developed by architects Murray & Associates.
Library meeting rooms are available to individuals and organizations for meetings of an educational, cultural or civic nature. The meeting room seats up to 90 and requires advance registration.
The Burke location has a computer training lab with 16 computers for word processing and Internet access as well as six additional computers for word processing and access to the Library's database and catalog sources.
Become a Friend of the Burke Branch Library
The Friends play an important role in strengthening ties between the library and the community. They provide funds for children and adult programming as well as equipment and materials that enhance library services through book sales, membership dues and fund raising projects.
