Author Talk with Bruce Johnson at Beatley Central Library
Bruce Johnson, a local news reporter for CBS affiliate, WUSA 9, will join Beatley Central Library on April 10, at 7 p.m. to share his compelling personal account of being a heart attack survivor, which he documents in his book, Heart to Heart. Johnson, a veteran journalist and anchor for over 30 years, describes in his book the shocking experience of having a heart attack at age 42 while on a reporting assignment, though he exercised and ate a relatively healthy diet. Accompanied by a panel of healthcare professionals, Johnson will speak candidly about his heart health and change of lifestyle after being affected by the disease that strikes over a million Americans per year. He will also delve more into his book, in which he interviewed 11 male and female heart attack survivors who were of different ages, economic statuses and hailed from different parts of the country. We hope that you join us for this potentially life-changing discussion, where Johnson and panelists will answer questions.
